You can enjoy the scenic paths on offer although dogs will need to be kept under close control and it is recommended they be on a lead if going past any deer.

Steyning Round Hill and Cissbury Ring Circular

If you're looking for a longer trail to explore then this 15.8km walk near Findon should take you around four and a half hours to complete.

South Downs Way: Cocking to Amberley

If you want a challenging route to embark upon, then this 19.3km walk should do the trick for you.

It should take around five and a half hours to complete, with it being the fifth section of the South Downs Way, taking you from Cocking to Amberley.

The profile adds: "You’ll take in several interesting archaeological sites as you make your way across the hills on the chalk escarpment. With undulating hills and little villages, this track through rural areas is a traditional SDW route."

Itchenor Circular

It will take you through farmland, passing through Patching and continuing into Angering Park Estate.

Birling Gap Circular

If you've got a day to spare on a walk then the 25km Birling Gap Circular may work for you, as it should take around seven hours to complete.

The profile adds: "Enjoy this varied route taking in a mix of coastal paths, woodland trails, and farmland tracks as you make your way round.

"There are lovely views over the English Channel along the cliff path while you can keep an eye out for wildlife in the woods and open fields."

Another long route is the Lewes to Fulking trail which should take around five hours and 45 minutes to complete.

The 21.4km route also finished at The Shepherd & Dog pub which could be a nice place to reward yourself with a pint once the mammoth walk is done.
