A seafront pub has reopened after a £350,000 revamp.

Tempest, on the promenade of Brighton beach near Shelter Hall, reopened on Friday after being closed for weeks to be refurbished.

It has an indoor bar, seafront terrace and space for DJs to perform.

The revamped terrace has wooden tables, Glastonbury-style flags and lighting and has panoramic views of the coast.

"The Tempest isn't just a venue, it's an experience," said Bec Andrews, management partner at Tempest. "Our investment reflects our commitment to enriching the communities we serve by offering a space where art, music, and great food converge to create unforgettable moments."

The bar is recognisable for its labyrinthine interior, with caverns and art and light installations.

There are cave booths available for bookings as are the first floor rooms, one of which has its own private bar.

Tempest has hosted a range of electronic music events including a performance by Romy, a nominee for the Brit Award for Best British Dance Act 2024.

The pub also has a new menu of snacks, sides and main dishes including burgers, surf and turf and a grilled mullet curry.

Frozen margaritas are a staple at the bar in summer.
