Estate agents Winkworth said the house was built between 1828 and 1830 after being designed by architects Amon Wilds and Charles Busby.

The regency home is one of few in the area that is owned by a single family rather than being divided into flats.

The property, which has a bow-fronted first-floor reception room, has an open-plan kitchen and living space in the lower ground floor that leads out to a private courtyard with garden furniture.

The ground floor of the home has a dining room and an ensuite bedroom, followed by a reception room and an ensuite study on the first floor.

The second and third floors are home to the rest of the property's bedrooms and bathrooms.

Each storey in the home is reached via the regal-looking staircase.

Winkworth said the home still has a number of its preserved period features.

This include fireplaces, full-length windows and solid wood floors.
