Police warning over super-strength heroin in Sussex

The Argus: Police warning over super-strength heroin in Sussex Police warning over super-strength heroin in Sussex

Super strength heroin is in circulation in Sussex.

Police have warned heroin in circulation in Horsham and possibly further has higher than normal levels of purity.

Chief Inspector Howard Hodges said: "While we obviously we do not condone the criminal use of this drug, this clearly presents an increased risk to those who purchase and use this drug. Sussex Police take this issue very seriously and we want to see both these drugs removed from circulation and those unfortunately addicted within our communities protected.

"The purpose of this message is to both raise awareness amongst current heroin users and to ensure that partner agencies involved in the treatment and engagement with those who are addicted can brief their staff and clients and raise awareness.

"If anyone has information in relation to this particular batch of drugs or any wider drugs related information they should call Sussex Police on 101, email us at 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Your information will be treated seriously and in confidence."

I didn't see Brighton mentioned in this story
Maybe Hosham is like every other town in this country with deadly drugs readily available and lots of desperate users willing to risk taking them.

I was living in the Netherlands in the winter of 79/80 and I saw the Grey Wolves(Turkish mafia) stop selling hash and only offer high purity 'Turkish brown'. They warned the junkies that it was very pure - the junkies did'nt believe them and in one weekend 40 died between Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
That winter the youth of Europe became junkies and took their addictions back to their own countries and the rest is history. The Dutch government refused to act against the Grey Wolves, drugs brought lots of tourists money to the Netherlands - we are still paying the price for Dutch duplicity. Don't blame the Dutch police they were told not to intervene - politicians - scum of the earth.

would that also apply to one of your family members, if for example they ended up with a habit ?

Quite. Addiction is a terrible thing. There are all sorts of reasons and problems that lead people into addiction. Wishing people with addictions dead is shocking.

Your comment is grossly offensive. it's been frequently used over the years about other addicts, muslims, arabs, gays and lesbians, other nationalities - the list goes on. If that's the most worthwhile comment you can come up with then please don't bother saying anything.

My Daughter was a heroin addict, thankfully she is now receiving treatment, and is well on the way to recovery.
If you had your way she would have died when she was still an addict, thus depriving myself of my Daughter, and my Grandaughter of a Mother.

What a caring person you sound.
