Archaeologists have found artefacts from almost every time period since the Ice Age along the route of a new road.
The Oxford-based experts were called in after workers on the Bexhill to Hastings link road found prehistoric flints.
Among the finds were items believed to be tools from the Upper Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Ages.
Some of the worked flints are thought to be the remains of tools for creating arrows and harpoons.
The discoveries are believed to show where there were camps and settlements and short-stay hunting sites close to wetlands.
Other discoveries include a probable Bronze Age field system and track.
And the experts identified late Iron Age and early Roman iron working sites near Hillcroft Farm in Crowhurst and at Upper Wilting Farm in St Leonards.
East Sussex County Archaeologist Casper Johnson will be giving an illustrated talk about the excavations at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery at a later date.
