Brighton graffiti artist creates Trigger memorial mural in memory of Roger Lloyd Pack

The Argus: The Trigger memorial mural The Trigger memorial mural

A graffiti artist has paid homage to a departed comedy star with a Brighton mural.

A street artist has created a piece in memory of Only Fools and Horses' Trigger, played by actor Roger Lloyd Pack.

The 69-year-old actor died at his home last week after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Just days later this heartfelt tribute to the man, known for owning a brush with “seven new handles and ten new heads”, appeared on a wall in Providence Place in Brighton.

Best known for his portrayal of the dim-witted street-sweeper Trigger, he also was a much-loved character in The Vicar Of Dibley, starred in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire as well as enjoying a distinguished career on the stage.

The Argus should not be giving publicity to the mindless morons who deface our streets , trains etc with their vandalism. If they want to paint on wall let them do it on their own walls

Artistic graffiti such as this actually brightens the bland walls up. I think you'll find these artists get permission first. I agree with you when it comes to the mindless talentless morons that just tag everything.

It's still vandalism, to install a mural such as this, a person would have to get permission from the council and the property owner, in three days this seems unlikely, so therefore it is mindless vandalism.
If your so keen let him come and paint your walls

I agree with ThinkBrighton: what a pity these people have ruined Providence Place with their colourful, amusing creations. It used to be such a beautiful part of Brighton - I especially like the razor ribbon, the heroin users in the gardens, the dog turds, and the temporary fencing around the collapsed building. Why do these mindless vandals have to tarnish this urban idyll?
