A team of polo players and a foursome of service men have become the second and third teams to complete a gruelling rowing race across the Atlantic.

The Atlantic Polo team completed the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, rowing 3,000 miles from La Gomera to Antigua, in 48 days and seven minutes and closely followed by Row2Recovery.

The polo team, which includes James Glasson from Midhurst, are the first fours team to complete the race and second overall ahead of 11 other teams.

Row2Recovery, which includes Hove-born Mark Jenkins and amputee soldiers Cayle Royce and Scott Blaney, have raised more than £17,000 for Help For Heroes during the endurance challenge.

The two quartets followed in the wake of Birdham-born Tom Salt and friend Mike Burton who were the first team across the finish line in Antigua last Tuesday.
