An 89-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital after being knocked down by a lorry in a busy city-centre street.
Brighton's West Street was closed when an elderly man was involved in a collision with a large lorry at the junction of Duke Street at 4.20pm.
The road remains closed between North Street and Russell Road in both directions while police and ambulances deal with the accident.
The man sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to hospital, but his condition is unknown.
The lorry driver is uninjured.
