Liveblog: Sussex in the latest storm

  • Sussex is currently subject to a severe weather warning - but the county seems to be coping well with the bad weather so far.
  • Yesterday, the Met Office issued a yellow warning for the whole county from midnight until 9pm, which means a likely risk of low to medium impact. It said: "Further rain at times on Wednesday may be locally persistent. The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding, especially in areas where there are ongoing concerns."
  • It also said: "Some uncertainty about details of rainfall, but the chance of 15 to 20 mm in a few areas, with the risk of localised flooding impacts as a result. As it turns colder, the rain could even turn to sleet or wet snow, more likely across the Downs and other hillier areas."
  • Emergency services reported no significant problems overnight, and our traffic live feed shows no flooding-related incidents so far.
