WITH VIDEO: A Brighton head girl has swapped her study books for dancing shoes to star in a rock ‘n’ roll music video.

Joyce Tang, 18, of Brighton and Hove High School, was recruited by up-and-coming Brighton band Michael A Grammar.

Such has been the popularity of the video, that music magazine NME posted it on the front page of their website.

The budding dancer said: “It’s really strange, I’m still getting used to seeing myself in the video.

“I’ve been dancing since the age of three so it means a lot to me. I took it at both GCSE and A-Level and I’m a member of a group in Brighton called Pop Dance UK.

“We had an initial meeting and then filmed it at their studio in Portslade. It was really good fun.”

The video for the band’s latest release Suzanna sees the head girl strut her stuff for a full two-and-a-half minutes.

But while she clearly has talent, her future lies elsewhere.

She said: “I’m hoping to go to university to study engineering. I love dancing though, I’ll always dance.”
