First published in News

A movie starring George Clooney and Matt Damon which was filmed on location at Camber Sands is due to be premiered this Friday.

The Monuments Men is an American-German comedy drama set in World War II, and is also written, directed and co-produced by Clooney.

It follows the fortunes of an Allied platoon made up of museum directors, curators and art historians whose mission is to resue artworks plundered by the Nazis from destruction or damage.

The cast and crew booked up Pontins in June to film beach scenes. Clooney and Damon were spotted enjoying fish and chips in a chippy in nearby Rye.

It must have felt like the Second World War staying in Pontins!

The picture above shows them all racing for breakfast at the kitkat cafe. A greasy spoon on the beach. Heaven!
