UPDATED: People have been warned again to stay away from the seafront as high winds and rain continue to batter the Sussex coast.

Yesterday, the coastguard repeated their warning for people to stay away from clifftops following several falls along the Sussex coast, most notably at Birling Gap and Seaford Head.

Today, Brighton and Hove beach police advised people to stay away from the beach because strong winds and very rough waves are making conditions very dangerous.

The Met Office's severe weather warnings remain in place from today through to Friday - with a further yellow be aware rain warning now added on Saturday.

The course of the storm has now been revised, which means we are more likely to escape the very worst of the winds and rain, but we are still likely to have heavy rain and gale force winds.
