Flooding is causing further delays on the trains near Gatwick this morning.

Delays of up to 20 minutes are being reported after signals were damaged by flood waters at Merstham near Gatwick.

Some trains are being diverted to alternate lines.

It comes after a section of the Brighton Mainline was shut following flooding near Patcham.

Southern currently don't have an estimate for when normal service will resume.

yes this is an indication of just how high the water levels are now getting to the point where anywhere low lying will start to have surface water , i have seen today in Patcham the water gushing again out of the main road sewerage system . to me its clearly an issues of what's flushed down the pipes the " disposable sanitary wear " and the very tough cleansing cloths "again flushable " that just seem to lay for days along the road edge after the man hole covers lift off .. whoops is that a rant about what people flush out of sight out of mid " ? i have yet to see in the gullies any "hypodermic's " needles syringes etc but Patcham High school playing field is awash with sewage from the Jasmine court "man hole " i am wondering how many parents know just what the kids play time fun might bring them home with ...
