Two cousins have been jailed for a total of eighteen-and-a-half years after drugs with a street value of £100,000 were seized.
Adrian Veshaj, 41, and Amadeo Veshaj, 34, both of Park Royal, Montpelier Road, Brighton, have been jailed for ten years and eight-an-a-half years respectively after being convicted conspiring to supply cocaine in Brighton and Hove.
The pair were also convicted of money laundering £12,000 cash.
They were jailed today at Hove Crown Council.
Both men are Albanian nationals and are due for deportation after they have carried out their sentence.
Sussex Police told how the pair were caught as the result of an intelligence-led operation by detectives from the Sussex Police Serious Organised Crime Unit.
On July 10 last year officers executed a drugs warrant a garage in Somerhill Road, Hove, and arrested Adrian Veshaj as he was opening the boot of a parked car in They found in the car and garage a total of more than two kilos of cocaine and seven kilos of 'bulking agent' used to increase weight and thus profit. They also found an industrial hydraulic press with related materials clearly used to package drugs for sale.
The officers then executed a further search warrant at their flat in nearby Montpelier Road and found Amadeo, with further drugs, mobile phones and £12,000 cash.
The seized drugs are estimated to have had a potential street value of more than £100,000.
Detective Inspector John Wallace said "The court found that the cousins were clearly actively involved in peddling drugs in the city. However a thorough and vast moving operation by our team, along with subsequent close co-operation with the Crown Prosecution Service, helped ensure that their activities were brought to an abrupt end.
"In addition to the sentences, we will now be seeking from the court a confiscation order for £12,000 under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) to enable those criminal profits to be returned to legitimate society.
"Criminals like this must realise that when we catch up with them, they will be brought to justice."
