Drug-dealing Brighton cousins jailed for 18-and-a-half years

Two cousins have been jailed for a total of eighteen-and-a-half years after drugs with a street value of £100,000 were seized.

Adrian Veshaj, 41, and Amadeo Veshaj, 34, both of Park Royal, Montpelier Road, Brighton, have been jailed for ten years and eight-an-a-half years respectively after being convicted conspiring to supply cocaine in Brighton and Hove.

The pair were also convicted of money laundering £12,000 cash.

They were jailed today at Hove Crown Council.

Both men are Albanian nationals and are due for deportation after they have carried out their sentence.

Sussex Police told how the pair were caught as the result of an intelligence-led operation by detectives from the Sussex Police Serious Organised Crime Unit.

On July 10 last year officers executed a drugs warrant a garage in Somerhill Road, Hove, and arrested Adrian Veshaj as he was opening the boot of a parked car in They found in the car and garage a total of more than two kilos of cocaine and seven kilos of 'bulking agent' used to increase weight and thus profit. They also found an industrial hydraulic press with related materials clearly used to package drugs for sale.

The officers then executed a further search warrant at their flat in nearby Montpelier Road and found Amadeo, with further drugs, mobile phones and £12,000 cash.

The seized drugs are estimated to have had a potential street value of more than £100,000.

Detective Inspector John Wallace said "The court found that the cousins were clearly actively involved in peddling drugs in the city. However a thorough and vast moving operation by our team, along with subsequent close co-operation with the Crown Prosecution Service, helped ensure that their activities were brought to an abrupt end.

"In addition to the sentences, we will now be seeking from the court a confiscation order for £12,000 under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) to enable those criminal profits to be returned to legitimate society.

"Criminals like this must realise that when we catch up with them, they will be brought to justice."

Drug dealing scum off the streets, their cash confiscated, a nice sentence (pity they won't do it all though) and then then booted out of the country afterwards. A good result for the old bill.

'Brighton cousins' or albanian nationals who happened to have been living in Brighton? The two things aren't quite the same are they.

I agree they should be kicked out now so we don't have to pay for their keep, or give them time to appeal because they have a pet cat.

You are such a racist. Every comment you post is like: lets deport them, lets send them away... But when you go outside of UK you become 100 times worse then the foreigners in UK. I have seen with my eyes british having sex on the beach, or in a swimming pool, **** wherever you want. You dont care that there are families with little kids near you. What can I explain to a 6 years old child watching british couple having sex in the pool....

I want to know what happen to the british bus driver who killed my Chinese classmate. I have just purchased a dash cam to record the buses overtaking me from the left side on Lewes road! Yesterday one of those idiots was driving with almost 50mph

Deportation? That's a laugh! Once the liberal pro-EU lawyers get involved we shall probably learn that it will be against their human rights to be sent back to Albania.
The message about "sending them back" refers to foreign criminals, not law abiding citizens from other countries. However, they should definitely be made to serve a sentence here. Just sending them back would be too lenient for them and an open invitation for other criminals to carry out their evil practices over here.

Yeah, Brits having sex on a beach is 100 times worse than Albanians dealing cocaine or murdering each other in the streets. There are other nationalities who are FAR worse behaved than Brits when they travel outside their own countries. Have you ever encountered Russians abroad? You really should stop watching those poxy BBC3 programmes that delight in showing us what a tiny crowd of drunken teenagers get up to in Magaluf or Corfu. The BBC - and the mainstream media in general - revels in showing up White British working class people as a bunch of violent, drunken louts. It keeps people distracted from looking to closely at the real degenerates that run this country. Not long now, though. We are soon going to find out what kind of monsters pull the strings in the UK. Recent revelations are just the tip of an enormous iceberg.

Sorry, but he's got a point. Alcohol is a narcotic, enough of it will temporarily alter your state of mind, just like cannabis, coke, heroin etc. The only difference is that the government says it's okay for you to drink. If alcohol was not invented/discovered until 2014, the side effects and health problems it causes would more than likely ensure that it was classed as an illegal substance.

But this article (going back to the actual point) shows that our justice system is pretty messed up. For posessing drugs with intent to sell, these guys got 8+ years each. The guy who fatally punched someone in the street got 4 years. A guy who was convicted of physical abuse against his girlfriend was given 3 and a half years. A child molester who helped give other abusers tips on how to get away with it was given 5 years. Another paedophile was given four years for having thousands of indecent images of children, despite already being on bail FOR THE SAME OFFENCES.

So posessing a dealing drugs is worse than physical abuse? I'm not saying the albanians involved should get shorter sentences, I'm saying that the other people mentioned need longer ones
