An elderly woman was seriously injured in a road accident.
Two cars travelling in opposite directions collided on the B2139 at Houghton Hill, between Whiteways roundabout and Houghton, on Monday at 5pm.
An 80-year old Warningcamp man, who was driving a blue Ford Fiesta, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious head and leg injuries.
A 38-year old woman from Burgess Hill who was a silver VW Polo was treated at St Richards Hospital, Chichester, for slight injuries.
Inspector Phil Nicholas of the Sussex Road Policing Unit said; "Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact us via 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Barsham."
