Man stuck in the mud in Littlehampton after trying to retrieve riverbed item
A man found himself in a sticky situation when he retrieved an item from a riverbed.
The pensioner was rescued after he became stuck in mud in the River Arun at Littlehampton.
A passerby managed to pull him out on Tuesday before members of Littlehampton RNLI arrived.
Lifeboat crewmember Nick White said: “We were called because someone had been retrieving
something from the river bed and got stuck on the way. He managed to get out before
we arrived.”
