A woman has died after a collision on Crawley Avenue in Crawley.

The 28-year-old was travelling in the car with a 35-year-old man at about 1.40am on Sunday when the black BMW Z3 sports car left the west bound carriageway along the A2011 Crawley Avenue and collided with a fence.

They were both taken to St George’s Hospital, Tooting in London with serious injuries and the woman died later the same morning.

The male remains in a serious condition but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the collision and have asked witnesses to call 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, quoting Operation Octagon.
