FIVE more motorists who were caught in Sussex Police’s Christmas crackdown have been banned from the roads.

Two of the drivers were arrested on the first day of the campaign while one was found drunk at the wheel just hours before Christmas Day.

The convictions bring the total number of people punished by the courts for drink or drug-driving offences committed during the campaign to 96.

Michael Moignard, 65, was charged with drink-driving after he was found in a crashed car on the A21 at Hurst Green on December 1.

Moignard, of Grove Crescent, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for three years.

He was also given a 15-month community order and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Catherine Sharpe, 28, was charged with drink-driving after officers stopped her vehicle on the A27 in Selmeston on December 1.

Sharpe, of Park View, Hastings, pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for 18 months.

She was also ordered to pay a £350 fine, £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge.

Anita Officer, 51, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis after she drove her car into a tree in Bannings Vale, Saltdean, on December 4.

Officer, of Wicklands Avenue, Saltdean, pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for 12 months.

She was also ordered to pay a £250 fine, £85 costs and a £25 victim surcharge.

Clifford Warren, 22, was charged with driving while unfit through drugs after officers stopped his car in High Street, Uckfield, on December 17.

Warren, of St John's Road, Crowborough, pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay a £260 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Daniel Booth, 44, was charged with drink-driving after officers stopped his car in Haywards Heath on December 24 after getting a tip-off that he had been drinking.

Booth, of Triangle Road, Haywards Heath, pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for three years.

He was also ordered to pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
