Update: 79-year-old charged with the attempted murder of his wife
A pensioner has been charged with attempted murder after his wife was found with life threatening head injuries at their home.
Dudley Boakes, 79, was arrested at his home in Grasmere Avenue in Sompting by officers after they were called to the home at 6.45pm on Thursday night.
He appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court this morning.
