The Argus: Deer on line causes rail chaos Deer on line causes rail chaos

Deer caused chaos on the railways this morning.

A deer sneaked onto the railway lane at Christ's Hospital, near Horsham, causing delays of around 25 minutes for services between Brighton and London.

The deer was dead, a Southern spokesman confirmed.

The route is now clear but there are knock-on delays.

How did a DEAD deer sneak onto a railway line?

Oh well, it's a novel excuse. I suspect the Argus keepts the headline "**** causes rail chaos" permanently ready to use, perhaps even with a shortcut key assigned to it, given the frequency of such articles appearing!
