A man has died after being struck by lorry as he exited a car on the hard shoulder of a motorway.
The 53-year-old, of Hastings, died, on Saturday on the M20 near Ashford, Kent, Kent Police confirmed.
The force said: "Police were called at 12.10pm by witnesses who reported seeing the collision in lane one after the man stopped his car on the hard shoulder and got out.
"He was a 53-year-old man from the Hastings area and his family has been informed.
"The London-bound carriageway between junctions 10 and 9 was closed until 8.15pm to allow the incident to be fully investigated.
"The lorry driver has not been arrested and a report is being prepared by for HM Coroner."
