A man with his dog was attacked and robbed by a gang of men.

The 25-year-old victim was assaulted by the men in Cromer Walk, Hastings, close to the metal footbridge at about 3.30pm on Saturday.

The men grabbed him, stole hundreds of pounds from him and then ran away.

The attackers were white, 17 to 20 and of slim to medium build. All were wearing dark tracksuits.

A police spokesman said: "The victim was attacked so quickly and with such force that he did not even have the time to call his dog to help him.

"We need to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard anything or anyone who saw a group of three young men in dark clothing nearby.

"Please contact us if you know anything at all."
