    .... its the arch as you might well know thats suffered a bit of a cave in " due to apparently some workmen doing something behind some wooden shuttering ..oppssee was that wood there to hold back the sub soil thats been there for over 50 years and the vibrations of the traffic above .. ..actually i know the arches well this is clearly the fault of the builders in the fortune of war read the article again ..Laurence Hill, manager of the Fortune of War, said: "We had builders working to shore up a fire exit at the back of the pub.

    "They took out a part of the ceiling and then loads of rubble just came down.
    WOTS ABOVE THE CEILING .. umm the ROAD ..."

VIDEO - A259 road subsidence

The A259 Kingsway in Brighton is suffering major delays after subsidence hit the road around 8am.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "It was discovered by workmen engaged in underground building work at the Fortune of War pub."

Laurence Hill, manager of the Fortune of War, spoke to The Argus on video about what happened.
