A boy was airlifted to hospital after falling off his bike during a race.

The incident took place in Rock a Nore Road, Hastings, on Sunday at 1.10pm.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A 15-year-old boy fell off his bike during a race.”

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman added: “SECAmb was called shortly before 1.10pm to reports a boy was injured after falling from a bicycle.

“Ambulance crews in an ambulance and a car attended the scene and we also assigned the air ambulance to attend the incident. The boy was assessed and treated at the scene for his injuries which included abdomen pain before being airlifted to hospital.”
