West Sussex County Council will decide whether to grant a fracking firm a new licence today.

Caudrilla's application to test oil flow in Balcombe will be decided at a Planning Committee meeting at County Hall in Horsham from 10.30am.

Demonstrations against fracking are expected to be held outside the venue.

It will be a major surprise if planning permission were not to be granted.

Once planning permission has been given, a protest at the site should be allowed, for say an hour so the anti's can get their point across about global capitalism, and then banned thereafter in order to ensure the taxpayer doesn't get saddled with both the tax bill and the inconvenience of the last demo.
