Concerns are growing for two girls who have been missing from Sussex for four days.

Starlene Dempsey, 12, of Crawley and Chloe James, 15, of Seaford, were last seen on Sunday.

Sussex Police said they were growing increasingly concerned for their welfare and fear they may have travelled to London.

Fifteen-year-old Chloe was dropped at Seaford railway station on Sunday around midday and had a return ticket to Lewes where she was expected to see a friend.

A police officer did speak to her on Sunday and she did say she would be returning home, but has so far failed to do so.

She is thought to be in the company of her friend, Starlene Dempsey, 12, who went missing after leaving an address in Portslade on Sunday and who has not returned to her home in Crawley.

Detective Inspector Lee Horner said: "Both girls have gone missing before and from previous experience, we believe that they may be putting themselves at serious risk due to the people they are likely to associate with.

"We have information that they are thought to be in the Newham or Tower Hamlets area of London and two Sussex officers have travelled to the capital to link with colleagues in the Metropolitan Police who are assisting with the search. I would urge the girls or anyone who knows where they are to contact police now on 101 quoting serial 1385 of 27/04. If they are in danger or need medical assistance, please dial 999 immediately."

That just requires an internet connection ... It does not require them to be at home.

Where to start. Runaways? Maybe ... that does not mean they are not missing. The two are not mutually exclusive.

As for Facebook ... if you have a smart phone, you can use it on the move.

They are a couple of extremely vulnerable young girls. Not least because they are emotionally and socially inept and immature. But also because they probably sincerely believe they know it all. Ripe for manipulation and exploitation by anyone.

I think your post says a lot more about you then me.I really do hope you find help.I don't even go to church but it may help you.
pmsl you feel it s ok to comment about a child in make up and question the morals of her parents ,i would ask why your taking such an interest in a child and her make up, and not the fact she is missing ,bit wrong if you ask me

What has wearing make up or her name being starlene got to do with the fact that 2 young girls are missing from home (somebodys daughter) Her parents must be sick with worry and you posting nasty messages isn't going to help the horrible situation the families are going through right now.......Shame on you.
