Four suspected burglars have been charged with breaking into homes across Sussex.

Oliver Pierce, 22, of Totland Road, Brighton, and Alexander Evans, 21, of Ashmore Close, Peacehaven, have been charged with a burglary at a flat in Islingword Road, Hanover, Brighton on Wednesday (30 April) during which designer handbags, a Tiffany bracelet and an Xbox were taken.

Pierce has also been charged with a burglary in Shanklin Road, Brighton, on 27 April during which two laptops and jewellery was stolen.

Both are appearing at Brighton Magistrates' Court today.

A man and a woman have also been charged with tricking an 89-year-old woman in Merry End, Bognor, into letting them into her home on April 26 so that they could steal from her.

James Beaney, 37, and Marisha Donegan, 29, both of Gravits Lane, Bognor, have been charged with burglary.

They have also been charged with smashing a window to try to break into the home of a pensioner in Middleton Road, Bognor, on the same date.

Both have been released on bail to appear at Chichester Crown Court on May 16.
