A man is to appear in court accused of racially abusing and assaulting a woman.

Police were called to Denne Road, Horsham, at 2.15am on Saturday (May 17) to a report that a man had assaulted a woman and racially abused her following a disagreement.

Benjamin Lucas, 23, of Denne Road, Horsham, was later charged with racially aggravated common assault and resisting a police officer in the lawful execution of his duty.

He was released on bail to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on May 28.
