About 200 volunteers are taking to the seafront for the Big Beach Clean Up this morning.
 

Employees from some of the biggest business in Brighton and Hove are joining politicians, council workers and staff from The Argus for the post bank holiday litter pick.
 

Among them will be 30volunteers from American Express along with staff from Legal and General, The Grand and Southern Water.
 

Caroline Lucas MP, Simon Kirby MP, council leader Jason Kitcat and councillors Geoffrey Theobald and Warren Morgan have also signed up.
 

Michael Beard, editor of The Argus, said: “It is fantastic to see how many people have signed up to help clean up the beach."
 

The Big Beach Clean Up has been organised by The Argus and will run from 8.30am to 10.30am with equipment provided by Cityclean.
 

There will also be free bacon or egg sandwiches from Andy Cheeseman, owner of Buddies restaurant.
 

The event is part of the Citymakers Initiative led by The Argus.
