MORE than a thousand cyclists donned the Lycra to pedal from the capital to the coast.
Keen cyclists travelled from the London Eye to Brighton beach yesterday LA fitness Capital to Coast cycle challenge for charity.
The ride welcomes all ages and abilities, and actively encourage those with disabilities to take part.
This year’s event included a number of cyclists riding tandems for the ride– including Nick Ivil and Richard Tooke.
The event raised thousands of pounds for three charities – Norwood, the Down’s Syndrome Association and Action Medical Research.
Tony Orme, LA fitness marketing director said: “The amount of money raised helps people with disabilities live full, rewarding lives and reach their potential. The charities rely greatly on voluntary contributions and fundraising. Without events such as the LA fitness Capital to Coast bike ride, lots of families would not be able to receive the support they desperately need.”
There are four routes covering 75 or 60 miles.
