A man is to appear in court accused with shoplifting three baseball caps from Sports Direct.

At about 4.30pm on 19 June a man left Sports Direct in Wellington Place, Hastings, with three baseball caps worth £39 without paying for them.

Johnny Wheatley, 35, of Priory Avenue, Hastings, has now been charged with theft.

Wheatley was released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 20 August.

The terms of his bail mean that he may not enter part of Hastings town centre before he appears in court, including Denmark Place, Havelock Road, Albert Road, Queens Road, Claremont, Trinity Street and Robertson Street.
