Both were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital and discharged the following day.

They described their attackers as white and speaking with Irish accents.

PC James Botting said: "At present this appears to have been an unprovoked attack. If you were neat the pier late on Saturday night and saw what happened please contact us via 101 or email101@sussex.pnn.police.ukquoting serial 1735 of 12/7.

Week in week out people are getting beaten up, stabbed and raped in Brighton. And that's just what's reported on here.

It must be quite a challenge to the old bill... to manipulatie the violent and sexual crime stats...

I'm fully aware that people get attacked by strangers.

The point I was making was the 'unprovoked' aspect.

I thought that was a simple point, but apparently it wasn't simple enough for some.

It's all part of the joys of having a vibrant, diverse culture, apparently.

All these people living in peace and harmony, with no homophobia, no racism, and no hatred......oh, wait.......
