A CHARITY in Brighton held an open day on Friday to showcase its work in the community.

More than 100 visitors were given a tour of The Moulsecoomb Forest Garden and Wildlife Project in Queen’s Road, Brighton.

Visitors were given a tour of the garden and the chance to make and cook their own pizzas in the outdoor clay oven.

Warren Carter, project manager, said: “The event went really well despite the pouring rain.”

Funds from the event will go towards plans to build a timber-framed eco shed, which would be used as an outdoor classroom. One of the main goals of the project is to work with struggling pupils by offering them an alternative outdoor environment where they can learn new practical and social skills.
