Adele is selling her West Sussex home

Adele’s former country estate is up for sale for £6million.

The mansion, which is described by the estate agent as “privacy personified”, is located just a couple of miles from Partridge Green. And with 13 bedrooms, seven reception rooms, nine bathrooms, staff accommodation and 24 acres of garden, there is plenty of room for all the friends and family.

The Grammy award winning singer rented the home in 2011 and 2012, before she moved to her seafront property in Hove with boyfriend Simon Konecki.

Lock House, as it is known, was built in around 1900 in the Vernacular Revival style before it was refurbished in the 1930s with the inclusion of a ballroom.

Recent additions also include a swimming pool and tennis court.

Estate agents Strutt and Parker describe the Grade II listed property as “substantial” and “set within beautiful mature grounds”.

Their brochure adds: “The property is approached from the drive through a porte-cochere which leads to the fine reception hall with Jacobean style carved staircase.

“Features of particular note include the elegant south facing drawing room with marble fireplace and the Walnut Room with its beautiful panelling.

Scary “The stunning 56 ft kitchen/family room occupies the former ballroom and is ideal for the modern family lifestyle.

“The majority of the bedrooms are arranged in suites, including an extensive and luxuriously appointed principal suite.”

Adele famously gave a US TV host a guided tour of the mansion in 2012 but also reportedly believed it was haunted.

She told 60 Minutes presenter Anderson Cooper that one corridor in particular was “quite scary really”.

She also claimed to have heard strange noises in part of the building which used to be a convent – so she reportedly paid a bodyguard £100,000 to stay with her in the listed building.

She said: “I’m not rattling around here on my own. It gives me the creeps.”

The £6million price tag does not include fixtures and fittings such as curtains, light fittings, garden statuary and ornaments. However, the sellers note that some may be available through a “separate negotiation”.

I was thinking about buying it, until I read that the price does not include light fittings. Lost interest now. That bodyguard sounds good value though. Might get him to guard my shed.

What a house that is, wow. How amazing. But that is far too big for me. If I had the money I wouldnt buy it. The most I would buy would probably be a nice house in Westdene/Withdean. Nice area in Brighton that, rather than being stuck right out in the country. Who needs a 13 bedroom house and 9 bathrooms, 9!! Utterly ridiculous and no surprise it hasnt sold yet.

Oh my aching sides...what a wit you are!
She is one of a few politicians who has any integrity and actually speaks up on the things she was elected for. One day you might realise that but I doubt it very much.
You would prefer an MP who spends all their time in Brighton dealing with only 'local' issues I suppose; isn't that why we have councillors though?

Where in the manifesto does it say I will spend a heap of time on page 3 and then schlep up to balcombe and sit in the road to get some pics done for free? Also I wonder if she went to court in work time? Doubt she used her annual leave for that!
