A NEW Vice Lord-Lieutenant for West Sussex has been appointed.
Harry Goring, a former High Sheriff of West Sussex, will take over the role from the outgoing Gordon Tregear who is standing down after five years in the post.
He will assist the Lord-Lieutenant in duties which include welcoming Royal visitors, formal functions, award and citizenship ceremonies and Remembrance Day services.
Mr Goring is a local farmer and producer of sparkling wine. He was educated at Eton and Cirencester Royal Agricultural College. In 1975 he took on the management of the Wiston Estate, which is now managed by his son.
