An investigation has been launched after a fire broke out last night.
Five crews from Brighton, Hove and Roedean were called to Park Apartments, London Road, Brighton, at about 11.45pm.
First reports indicated people were trapped in the fire but everybody was out by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.
Multiple fires were located inside a flat on the second floor, which were quickly put out.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene for about an hour to make sure the fire would not reignite and to clear smoke from the building.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
It is not yet known how the fire started.
