A fire is believed to have been started deliberately on the fire escape of a tower block.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Falcon Court, Brighton, in response to a pile of rubbish which had been set alight outside a fire escape just before 3pm on Saturday.
Four engines were deployed due to the nature of the building, but the fire was brought under control swiftly - being extinguished within 20 minutes.
Fire investigators are looking into the incident and the cause is believed to be deliberate.
