Two men were attacked in separate attacks in the same street.
A 23-year old man was headbutted and a 32-year old man was punched causing a black eye, both while they were walking separately along Chapel Road, Worthing, at around 3am on Saturday August 16.
The two alleged assailants are both described as white and 5'8". One was slim, had short dark brown hair, and was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
The other man was of medium build, with short light brown hair, and wore a blue t-shirt and jeans.
Investigator Kimberley Duke said "We are asking anyone who was in the Chapel Road area early that morning and who may have seen what happened, or wishes to report an assault on themselves, to contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 217 of 16/08.
"You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0845 555 111."
Two local men, both aged 19, have been arrested on suspicion of the assaults and have been released on police bail until 12 September while enquiries continue.
