Protesters staged a march in solidarity with the civilians of Gaza yesterday.

Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign held a rally at Brighton Town Hall and marched to Hove Town Hall.

The rally was in protest at continuing Israeli attacks on Gaza and to urge Brighton and Hove City Council to adopt a motion supporting a policy of boycotts, sanctions and divestment in Israeli companies and businesses.

Brighton and Hove city councillor Ben Duncan, who has proposed the motion to be debated by the council in October, was due to speak.

Other speakers included Dr Paul Oestreicher, a former chairman of Amnesty International who has lived in Brighton for the past 12 years, and Ben Rogaly, professor of geography at the University of Sussex, who recently worked in the West Bank.
