A DISABLED woman was pushed off her mobility scooter and verbally abused by a man she had asked to step out of her way.
The victim was knocked to the ground amid a stream of abuse before being helped up by members of the public.
Police are appealing for help in tracking down the man who pushed her near the bus area of Langney shopping centre, Eastbourne, at about 4.40pm on Friday (August 22).
He is described as in his mid-twenties, white and 5' 10" with short, spiky hair and the word HATE tattooed across his knuckles.
He was wearing a black t-shirt featuring the phrase Keep Calm And Carry On, dark jeans and light-coloured trainers.
PC Ben Stevens said: "The victim was abused after she tried to ask the offender to step out of her way so she could get past.
"She was subjected to a stream of nasty abuse and suffered bruising during her fall.
"She was helped back onto the scooter by members of the public and I would like to speak to them as well as to anyone else who saw what happened.
