A SCHOOLBOY has lost his long locks for charity.
For the past four years Owen Ward of Burgess Hill only allowed his auntie Julie to trim the ends of his hair.
That changed recently when the 14-year-old underwent a closer cut at The Woolpack pub.
More than 60 people showed up to support him, with almost £300 raised on the night.
The 10in of hair he had chopped off was sent away to be made into wigs for cancer patients.
Owen got the idea at a party when his uncle offered him £50 to have his hair cut short. He decided he could raise money for two charities relevant to close members of his family.
Overall he has raised more than £850 for Cancer Research and Mind.
