A medieval church threatened with closure faces a delay on learning its fate.
St Leonard’s Church in New Church Road, Hove, has suffered falling congregations and mounting maintenance bills.
Now the committee looking into the closure has postponed any discussion until October.
The Saving St Leonard’s campaign handed in a petition of more than 2,000 signatures for the Diocese of Chichester to Church House in Aldrington in July.
On May 19, the Parochial Church Council of Aldrington voted to ask the diocese to consult on the future of St Leonard’s.
