The King Alfred Leisure Centre site
AN MP will push for an Olympic-size swimming pool at the King Alfred Leisure Centre site in Hove at a council meeting.
Hove MP Mike Weatherley will present a petition to Brighton and Hove City Council at Hove Town Hall next Thursday with Mark Cannon, chairman of the Shiverers Swimming Club, and campaigner Jo Maynard.
The city council has advertised for companies to redevelop the leisure centre site and the Tory MP has long campaigned for any new facility to include a 50m pool.
The petition has attracted about 2,000 signatures.
