A car smashed into a lampost outside a pub.
Staff at the pub in Ladies Mile Road said a car smashed into the lamppost shortly after 2pm.
Patcham High School pupil Morgan James, 15, said: "The lamppost is completely bent and there are loads of school children hanging around and taking pictures.
"There are so many cars coming from all directions that are just sat in the road waiting. There was no driver around when I was there."
Brighton and Hove Bus Company tweeted:

A spokeswoman from Sussex Police said: "At approximately 2.15pm today (Friday) police were called to an incident in which a car had hit a lamp post in Ladies Mile Road, Brighton. An ambulance was called and the driver of a black Mitsubishi was taken to hospital for minor injuries.
"As at 3.45pm, the car is currently awaiting recovery and officers are helping with traffic flow in the area.
