A MUSIC group hit all the right notes when it was recognised for its contribution to the community.

Seaford Musical Theatre Juniors was crowned with a prize at the Spark Awards 2014 – a ceremony organised by a network of young people’s organisations across East Sussex.

The event on November 12 saw awards across 12 categories including Social Media Achievement, Advice and Guidance Achievement and Sports Achievement.

But it was Seaford Musical Theatre Juniors that stole the show by winning the main Spark Award gong and being named runner-up in three other areas.

The group was formed in 2011 by Paula Woolven and Shar Turnbull and welcomes youngsters aged between five and 18.

The organisation encourages personal development through performance-based learning and encourages “confidence, creativity and consideration”.

The group celebrated their awards success by performing on stage at the event, which was held at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill.
