Alfredo Onofrio Guiseppe Brunetto, aged 58, of Argyle Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing DVD of All Is Not Lost wor th £6.99 from WHSmith in George Street, Hove, on August 13. He was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

James Morgan Coyle, aged 29, of Regency Square, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of vodka wor th £9.99 from Booze Box, Preston Street, Brighton, on September 5. He was fined £75 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Anthony Ormiston, aged 31, of Ditchling Rise, Brighton, pleaded guilty to being in possession of the controlled drug cocaine in Western Road, Hove, on July 31. He was fined £110 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 costs, which will be deducted from his benefits.

Gary Edward Bartley, aged 33, of North Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to using threatening, insulting or abusive words in Church Street, Brighton, on August 31. Sentenced to two weeks imprisonment for breach of harassment order. Also found guilty of breaching a restraining order preventing him from entering Robin Davis Close in Brighton, on May 28 and assault by beating. He was sent to prison for 12 weeks for breaching the harassment order and two weeks, concurrently, for the assault. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.

Alan Chay Riedel, aged 30, of Dean Street, Brighton, was found guilty of possessing cocaine and cannabis in Little East Street, Brighton, on July 26. Also breached a conditional discharge sentence for shoplifting. He was fined £150, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £250 costs for cocaine possession. Fined £100 for possession of cannabis and £100 for shoplifting.

Phillip Jennings, aged 46, of Warren Close, Woodingdean, Brighton, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words on February 10 in Hove. Was given a 12- month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Russell Simmonds, aged 47, of Dale Drive, Brighton, pleaded guilty to assault in Brighton on October 24. He was sentenced to eight weeks in jail suspended for 12 months, ordered not to enter the proper ty where the assault took place, carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and pay £85 costs, £80 victim surcharge and £400 compensation.

Jemma Marie Martin, aged 29, of Selsfield Drive, Brighton, was found guilty of failing to notify Depar tment of Work and Pensions and Brighton and Hove City Council that she was living with her husband Paul Tait between June 2012 and September 2013 which affected her entitlement to claim income suppor t, council tax and housing benefit. She was ordered to attend ten sessions at Inspire, Women’s Centre in High Street, Brighton and pay costs of £500.

Timothy Sean Smith, aged 51, of Freehold Terrace, Brighton, was found to be in possession of class A drugs psilocybin mushrooms and cannabis in his home on August 4. He was fined a total of £146 – £91 for possession of mushrooms and £55 for possession of cannabis and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £40.

Jason Alan Ronaldson, aged 39, of Grand Parade, Brighton, pleaded guilty to attempting to enter a building in Queen Square, Brighton, as trespasser with intent to steal on October 28. He was made subject to community order which includes a three-month curfew. He was fined £60 and ordered to pay £85 in costs.
