January 24.

The Celtic Supporters Association refused to back the call for a

boycott of home games. While this decision was predictable, it is none

the less disappointing (January 24). The CSA claims to represent around

11,000 fans. I am a member of the CSA but I feel it does not represent

me or my views.

I understand Mr Brodie's position in not wanting to ''damage'' Celtic

FC. Neither do I wish to harm the club, rather to save it. Surely it is

the present board of directors who are doing the most damage to Celtic

and therefore a boycott in helping to remove them would be to the

long-term good of Celtic. Perhaps to do nothing, and therefore allow

this situation to continue, is itself more damaging.

I do not want to boycott Celtic -- no Celtic fan really wants a

boycott -- but this is not a question of what I want, it is a question

of what is best for Celtic. Believing, as I do, that the present board

are running this club into the ground, and that it is in the best

interests of Celtic to remove them, I will boycott, however much that

may hurt. I cannot put my own feelings before Celtic.

The Celtic board should not be lulled into complacency following the

CSA's decision. I am sure I am not the only one of its members who will

boycott, despite Mr Brodie's words.
