A ROOFER has gone to jail for planning to deal drugs.
John Edney, of Wickham Avenue, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply, and to supplying cannabis, at Lewes Crown Court on Friday. He was sent to prison for a year.
Cannabis was found stashed under a wardrobe and top of the kitchen fridge as well as £200 cash when police searched his house in June last year.
PC Paul Eastes, of the Rother neighbourhood policing team, said: "Drug dealing and associated acquisitive crime blights communities. Although this particular operation did not result in a significant amount of drugs being recovered, it sends out a clear message that we will work with the community, develop and act on the information provided to us about suspected drug activity. Those involved in drug supply face the very real prospect of a custodial sentence."
