A SHOP, café, music venue and gallery situated in a Georgian manor house is celebrating its 21st birthday.

As part of Trading Boundaries’ celebrations, it is hosting a book signing on Thursday, August 24, by Newick resident Roy Lingham, aged 95, who has written Roy’s Rambles around Fletching: Memories of a Sussex Parish.

Trading Boundaries is based at Sheffield Green near Fletching.

It specialises in importing Asian furniture, artefacts and textiles.

The boutique, candlelit venue hosts artists such as Steve Hackett, Rick Wakeman, Focus and The Brand New Heavies with the gallery offering a permanent display of Roger Dean’s work.

Roy was once Trading Boundaries’ neighbour when the shop first opened.

Its courtyard was once home to his herd of Jersey cows.

Prior to retiring from the farm, Roy started to reminisce about his childhood and his years spent farming in Fletching.

He put pen to paper and this book is the result of his collective memories originally published regularly in Fletching Parish magazine.

He was born on May 23, 1922 at Ashurst Wood.

His parents, Gwendolene and Donald Lingham, farmed Woolpack Farm, Fletching.

The book signing is from 7pm until 8.30pm.
