A DAY nursery in Saltdean is the new sponsor of one of the city’s busiest roundabouts.

Gingerbread Day Nursery, part of Childcare 360 Ltd, has agreed to sponsor the Ovingdean roundabout which is a haven for natural wildflowers.

The sponsorship is part of a Highways Sponsorship Initiative run by the council in partnership with Sussex-based Highways Sponsorship Specialists SponsorARoundabout.

Councillor Gill Mitchell, chair of the council’s environment committee said: “We welcome this generous funding from the Gingerbread Nursery which will go towards the upkeep of this busy roundabout which is seen by thousands of people every day.”

Mark Barfoot, managing director of SponsorARoundabout, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gingerbread Day Nursery to Brighton & Hove City Council’s extremely successful and growing environmental sponsorship initiative.

“Their sponsorship of the naturalised roundabout at Ovingdean now effectively provides an informally branded welcome to everyone entering and leaving the city from Brighton’s very busy coast road to the east, and helps the city council to continue to make Brighton and Hove a most attractive location in which to live, work and visit.”
